More Germany Photos Day 2 of Our Vacation

Looking through these photos I really believe that for the next vacation I will be back holding the camera.  I have been not feeling well the last couple of days, but am back on track now and back going through vacation photos.  On Saturday, our second day in Germany this trip, we decided to take the boys to the Munich flea market and then to hang out and tour in downtown Munich.  The flea market is enormous, and I thought the boys, especially Phillip, would enjoy that.  It was so different from what it was 16 years ago but still HUGE! And they did have fun. And I have no pictures of that, sadly.  But I do have a few from downtown Munich.  We managed to park really close to the downtown area and the farmers market, amazing for a weekend during the Christmas market.  So we ate at the farmers market, the Viktualienmarkt. There was such a variety of foods, from more traditional German meals to organic, vegetarian dishes.  That was nice.  NO PHOTOS of the farmer's market either.

Then we decided to tour a few of the area cathedrals.  Beautiful architecture, sculptures, frescos, and history. A couple of these photos are a little blurry, but it is all I have.

We spent the rest of the day at the Christmas Market.  FULL OF PEOPLE.  This was not my favorite Christmas market, it was in such a small area with so many people, not a good flow of traffic.  But we did have a good time and being in the Christmas market on the hour, when all those Cathedral bells are chiming is AMAZING, church bells all around you.  And we did get to see the Munich glockenspiel  , which does not go off every hour, disappointed there, so if you travel to Germany and want to see it in action please check web sites for what time of day it will be functioning.

In this picture you can see the Glockenspiel in the back and part of the Christmas market in front of it.
