Wow what a trip! It started by me casually mentioning to a friend that I had thought about just taking the boys to the beach for a day, but was trying to decide if it would work. Drive the 5 1/2 hours to the beach, to stay for just a few hours and turn around and drive home. But I really needed to be on the coast, even if it was only a few hours, just to see and smell and feel the ocean, that deep blue, with a gentle breeze, play in the sand, jump waves, forget about all the conference details. For just a day!
Well she thought it was a wonderful idea, we actually stayed overnight just one night. So it was a lot of driving, but we had so much fun. I did not get online, did not bring my computer, and only used my phone to call Jackson and say good night! It was too short, I didn't want to leave, and when I saw dishes lined up down the counter, I wanted to go back. :-) I did get some great pictures! Here are just a few.

Looked so beautiful. I am happy you picked up and went with what you were feeling and had a friend to share it with. We could all use a little more spontaneous moments in our life. : )
