I found a cool meme today, and while it is about photos of sunrises or sunsets, I believe mine will probably be more about sunsets than sunrises. I just like my sleep too much to venture out that early in the morning. I just stumbled upon this so am going to use a picture or two I took while on our trip to Hawaii. The first picture is of the sunset, the second of course has my family in it, Jackson, Dallen and Phillip. We were playing on the beach outside the hotel while the sun was setting so I took advantage of the opportunity for some great photos.

OK so the boys are getting older. It just hit me the other day. Well I can see it on a daily basis, them growing and changing. But the other day I realized that we can change as well. we have been going to play groups and play days for what seems like forever, in reality maybe 5 or 6 years. And the boys enjoy hanging with their friends, but we have all been talking, lately, about other things we want to do, things Jackson and I used to do when the boys were younger. Things we stopped doing because we didn't have time with all the play days and park days.
So a friend and I are organizing a couple of activities that we hope will be fun, in place of a couple of our park days. One is a once a month hike. We live close to some of the most spectacular hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains. And I miss the hiking, and my body misses the hiking, and the boys love hiking. A second is a "Let's Get Movin'" day. Where we do different things like biking, or a challenge course, or rock climbing etc. Just one day a month where we do something different.
So we are excited to be getting outside, seeing new things with our friends and sharing this wonderful scenery. This past week we went to Linville Falls. It is labeled a moderate hike but it is on the easy side of moderate, ;-) The air is crisp but the leaves are not changing much right now. A perfect day for a hike.

One thing I love about being home, is the freedom to stop what I am doing and just knit, for a few minutes or an hour. It is so relaxing. And something I haven't been doing as much of when we were traveling to different events so much. I am working on Christmas presents again. Just too many people I love, and want to share my passions with over the holidays. So right now I am working on a hat, to go with a pair of socks I knit and then maybe a pair of mittens to match. What a wonderful life, what a wonderful day.

We are back home from what seemed like an endless vacation. Now it is clean up time, cleaning up the house from all the packing and unpacking, laundry to do, groceries to buy, etc. We did have time on Friday to celebrate the birthday of one of our close friends. It is so nice to be able to spend time chatting, and laughing and having fun. So now that we are home, it is back taking pictures, and posting on my blog.
Here's to friendship:

OK I just looked at my blog and can see it has been a while since I have posted anything. First our vacation to the beach followed immediately by the Live and Learn Conference.
But we are back and I have a couple of things I want to finish up before I head off to FLT for the weekend. One project is a bag trade I want to participate in. Make a bag at least large enough to fit a cell phone or Ipod. So I worked on that yesterday and finished up this morning. After looking at it, it will be difficult to give it up. But I know I will receive an equally beautiful bag in return. I knit the outside and braided a strap, used beads to decorate and lined the bag with a bright sunshiny yellow fabric. It is so cute. I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do...
